Personal Training Services

This is the foundation of the personal training I provide:

We start with a face-to-face meeting so we can get to know each other. I will ask about your health and exercise history, your feelings about exercise and fitness, and your goals.
We will work together to develop an approach to achieve those goals. I will develop a written plan to serve as a framework for your success.
I will set up an on-line training log for you that you can use to enter your exercise data and – most importantly – your comments and feelings about each session.
Each week (or other frequency to be determined), we will meet in person to work together for about an hour (see inset to the right).
If you live outside the San Francisco Bay Area, we can still work together using Skype or FaceTime - let's talk about how I can help you this way.

When (not if!) you achieve your primary goal, I will donate $25 in your honor to a high school track or cross-country program of your choice. I love supporting young runners' access to the sport!

In-Person Training Sessions

During our in-person training sessions, I will teach you exercises to do, check your technique, and assess how you're doing toward your goals. I follow the National Academy of sports Medicine (NASM) Optimum Performance Training model, which requires that one level of training is mastered before moving to the next level.
Hourly Rate: $75, plus travel costs if more than 10 miles from Alameda, CA. Rate for small groups would be less per person - rate is negotiable - contact me!
